The command of the Lord Jesus in the above mentioned scripture has played a huge role in the story of Kérugma Productions over the years. We have been going full time now for more than ten years. That, in itself, is a miracle. The story about how the Lord has led us during the past ten years and especially how He has provided often for the needs of this ministry, is a testimony of his goodness, faithfulness and care which are indescribably big. We could certainly write a book on it.

Our story goes back to the beginning years, before the Lord led us ten years ago into fulltime ministry. There are those of you who have been with us throughout the years and have experienced the beginning and the development of this ministry. Some of you have supported us financially on occasion or regularly and we thank the Lord for your obedience to Him. We know that, apart from that support, you also prayed for us. It is highly appreciated. There are, however, also those who have not been able to give physically, but pray for us regularly and faithfully. One person phones every now and then to say that although they have never seen any of Kérugma’s DVDs, they pray for us on a regular basis. This is the kind of support we really appreciate. You will never know how much it means to us. However, we believe that one day when we all stand together before the Lord Jesus, you will see the wonderful fruit of it all. The truth is that we see and experience often that there are people praying for us in this ministry.

There are also those of you who have only recently appeared on our address list, maybe through a DVD which you ordered or by asking to be put on the address list via our website. Welcome! We trust that this ministry will be a great blessing and encouragement to your spiritual life. For your sakes, we would have liked to tell the whole story of Kérugma. There is, however, no space for it in a Bulletin like this. We will give just a short summary.

Kérugma Productions started in 1994 when we started with the production of the video series in Afrikaans: Die Toronto “Herlewing” – ‘n Kritiese Evaluering (The Toronto “Blessing” - A Critical Evaluation). It was an enormous undertaking. We had no idea what we were letting ourselves in for. These were eight long, full-length productions. After we had started on Volume 6 of the series, someone said that big film companies normally did not tackle more than one such a lengthy production per year.

Before the last one in the series, Volume 8, could be started, the Lord led us to take a step of faith to continue fulltime with the ministry. At that stage we were certain that this last one in the series would be the first one to be produced here in Cape Town. However, we had to learn to wait on the Lord to do things in His time. All we had was the Word of the Lord that said that we should continue in total dependence on Him. Without a cent in our pockets or any support, we had to move to Cape Town and start here. Just like on that first day and month not knowing where anything would come from, it is still the same today and at the end of every month. It has not been easy from one moment to the next; yet, the Lord has carried us through everything till now. We have the assurance that He will continue to carry Kérugma Productions. It is He, who by his Holy Spirit, will stir up people to pray for us. It is also He who works in the hearts of men and women to give to this ministry. As a result we pray regularly for the necessary funds to make the above mentioned Volume 8. You see, we cannot undertake a production if the Lord does not lead and provide for it. We would have liked to have finished Volume 8 long ago. Everything that has been said in the previous volumes really only makes sense once you understand the information given in Volume 8. It is so important that people comprehend how this type of “revival” works. Therefore we cannot wait to release this eighth volume. Yet the Lord is not providing and is very quiet about it.  Now, after everything, Todd Bentley’s “Lakeland Revival” is suddenly big news. What is happening in the USA at Lakeland? Well, it has happened exactly as we said it would when we started the series about the Toronto “Revival”. It is a movement that will spread and increase in severity. In 1 Timothy 4:1 Paul writes that the Holy Spirit says clearly that some of the children of the Lord will fall away from the faith because they will pay “attention to deceitful spirits and doctrines of demons”.

This is a hard but true word. Therefore it is necessary to inform the Lord’s children and to help where these things are happening. The fact is that if Volume 8 were made now, it would be exactly at the right time. The Lord’s timing is always perfect. We are currently busy with the process of putting Volumes 1 to 7 as well as Reverend Etienne Maritz’s testimony on DVD. It has always been in demand, but as people experience these things more and more, the demand increases.

THE FUTURE OF KÉRUGMA

Since the beginning it has not been Kérugma’s aim only to introduce apologetic products like the series on the deception movement. Someone who is proclaiming the Word should not only disprove and correct. The commission of the Lord is much wider and more extensive. Teaching also needs to be done. Those who come out of deception (together with all of us) need to be taught the whole purpose of God (Acts 20:27). As a result of this, we explained in one of our first bulletins that the Lord had led us to release videos (now DVDs and Blue-ray discs) which open up the background of the Bible. In that bulletin we used the example of the building of a tabernacle and the filming of it. We thought that something like that could perhaps happen towards the end of our lives. At that stage, the Lord had already led Dr Randall Smith, a Biblical archeologist and Bible teacher, to build an exact replica of the tabernacle in Israel. That is how the four part series about the tabernacle originated. Are the Lord’s ways not wonderful? Apart from the DVDs that we have already had the privilege to make with Dr Randall Smith, we are currently busy with a project to film all his presentations at different archeological sites in the Bible lands. It is an enormous project that will take years to complete. If possible, when the Lord provides, we accompany him on the tours that he presents and film as much as we can. We have just released a DVD, JOURNEY THROUGH THE BIBLE, which gives an overview of the last tour through Israel during February 2008. It gives the viewer a good idea of such a tour. Whoever is interested is welcome to go on such a tour. You may contact us for the necessary information.  We however know that the majority of people will never have the privilege to go on such a tour. For this very reason we are working on a series with the theme: Exploring the Lands of the Bible. The two most recent DVDs we produced in this manner, are HOW JESUS GREW UP and THE CALL OF MOSES. In many respects it can even mean a lot to those who had been on a similar tour. Watching peacefully at home, they can look at it again and again and reminisce. When you venture on a tour like this, it is important to make sure who your tour guide is. In Jerusalem we met a South African lady who was very disappointed with the tour that she was on. While their tour leader took them around the Garden of Gethsemané, she heard what Randall presented to us. That led to her ordering almost all our DVDs and giving it to others as well.

We herewith take the liberty to ask you to pray for us in producing the series, Exploring the Lands of the Bible. It is in fact different series about the various lands of the Bible. It takes a lot out of you to travel with all the equipment, to carry everything with, to set it up and to try and film over all the heads and shoulders – and that goes for every day on the bus and wherever the group may go. The editing of it also takes a lot of time. Please pray for our health, but also for our finances. The flight tickets as well as the tickets for the tours are very expensive. We would never have gone on a tour like this if the Lord had not led us to do so. We do believe, however, that it is vital to make these DVDs, especially for the time we are living in. There are so many lies and deceptions that have permeated the church in such a manner that people have lost their confidence in the Bible. These archeological discoveries show that the Bible is absolutely trustworthy. Not that we do not trust the Bible. Yet the messages on these DVDs help to destroy the general lies around the Bible and affirm the truth of God’s Word. Additionally it offers a lot of information that is not readily available anywhere.

Please also pray for the effective distribution of all our DVDs. We unfortunately have no funds to market or advertise; although the ideal situation is for our products to be in every home. We rely on you who are watching them to make it known further and even to advertise them. Thus you are playing a more important role in this ministry than you may realize. The Lord bless you richly.
